Blown Reinker Swap

Hello everyone!  It has been a while since I posted the projects I have been working on.  I recently went to Stampin' Up!'s 25th anniversay Convention in Utah and want to show you the swaps I made.

The first one I want to show you is my Blown Reinker swap.
It is super simple and a technique I learned when I was little.  On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, drop a single drop of Stampin' Up! reinker offset from the center.

With a straw cut in half, blow out the reinker until you have the amount of veins you are happy with.

You might need to use a second drop of reinker if the veins are too thick.  Continue with different colors until you have a design you are happy with.

The punch is the new Artisan Label punch and the sentiment is from the Label Love set.

Hope you enjoy this card and if you need additional instructions, please feel free to leave a comment.

Thank you for visiting!

What I have been working on

It has been a very long time since I posted anything here.  I have been doing some stamping but not a lot.  I seemed to have misplaced my camera and my phone doesn't always want to take good pictures, which makes me not want to post.  My camera is still missing in action and my phone has finally cooperated with me so I decided to show you what I have been working on recently.

These are child size crochet hats that are super simple to make!  They are going to be donated to Texas Children's Hospital for the kids undergoing treatment.  My aunt got me started and they are way to fun to stop, plus it is a great cause!

Thanks for stopping by, I am off to make some more hats!

Merry Monday Challenge

I was blog surfing this morning and decided to play along with the Merry Monday Challenge.  I have been following along but have never actually submitted an entry before.  I decided that since I have been playing with MDS recently that I would go ahead and give it a try this week with a digital card.
Here is the sketch for this week.  I decided to rotate the sketch and get a little creative with it.  I used the trees on my card where the ribbon and dsp are on the sketch.  I also thought it would look really cute if I used the deer stamp instead of the punch.  I think this card is super cute and super simple.  Leave me a comment and tell me what you think.

Wedding Words

I am having so much fun with MDS2!  Here is an idea I got from Pinterest.  I really love this idea!  It has the lyrics to our first dance song (Could I Have This Dance by Anne Murray) over our first dance picture.  I am going to have a canvas made from this very soon!

A scrapbook page

I have been playing with My Digital Studio 2 again!  My baby is five years old and about to start kindergarten.  How crazy is it that I am just now making pages for his scrapbook?!?  I didn't use any of the new features on MDS2 this time, but I still had a lot of fun creating this page.

Playing with MDS2

I am so excited!  Stampin' Up! released their new version of My Digital Studio today.  Let me tell you, if you do not have this program, you really should get it.  I have been using the original version for quite some time and downloaded the upgrade to My digital Studio 2 this morning and have been playing with it ever since.  I really LOVE the new features.  Do you see my bells?  They are colored with the new coloring tool that allows you to color pieces of one stamp different colors!  My next project is to play with the double layout feature for scrapbook pages.

2 in 1

Here I am on a roll with challenges! This week I did two challenges in one. Pals Paper Arts is having a color challenge for red this week. The Paper Players is having a theme challenge. They want you to use flowers on your card this week. This is the first time that I combined challenges.

For this card, I used the stamp set "Three Little Words." The colors are Real Red, Very Vanilla, Old Olive and Crumb Cake. You can't tell from the photo but I used the Texturz Plate Perfect Details on the smaller red piece.

I hope you like it and leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

P.S. Don't forget about Sale-a-Bration!
