Vintage Friends for PPA

This week over at Pals Paper Arts, the challenge is a vintage theme. I am more of a clean and simple card girl so vintage is a challenge for me. With some advice that Ann Schach posted on her blog about how to create vintage cards, I went to work (play). I started with the faux silk technique from Splitcoaststampers tutorials. It is basically a piece of tissue paper that has been stamped and crumpled up. I used the Friends 24-7 stamp set because I had it out and thought that it would work perfectly. I was right. With a little sponging, crumpling and distressing, this card came out great and it was so simple to do. I will be making some more vintage cards in the near future.

Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to leave me a comment to tell me what you think. See you next time.

Link and blog candy to new site I found

Do you like to give handmade gifts?

Are you on the lookout for some really cute handmade items?

If you answered yes to either of these questions (even if you didn't) you should really check out this site.

She is giving away a chance to win $25 worth of product from her etsy shop! Trust me when I say that the items in her shop are too stinkin' cute! She has adult, kids and baby size hats and scarfs; kid size tutus and even leg warmers for babies! You have got to check it out.

Thanks for stopping by and next time I will have a card for you.

LOVE for The Paper Players

Don't you just love this stamp set?!?! I know I do! This little girl is too stinkin' cute. I made this card for this weeks Paper Players challenge. It is anything goes. I decided to use the Sweet Shoppe Alphabet set and my stamp-a-ma-jig to create the square "LOVE" in the top corner. The background is the Perfect Details Texturz Plate. It is one of my new favorite things. I have had it for about 6 months and only recently started using it. I really have got to get the rest of the texturz plates! You can't tell in the picture, but I rubbed shimmer paint over the swirls to give it a little "pop". It looks great in person. I wanted a bow, but didn't want the ends hanging down and covering the bitty buttons I added in the bottom corner. I saw this kind of bow somewhere and knew it would be perfect with a Whisper White jumbo brad in the center.

I really like how this card turned out and hope you do too. Leave me a comment and tell me what you think.

Thanks for stopping by and see you next time,
