One Sheet Wonder

I challenged myself to create some cards using the One Sheet Wonder technique a few months ago. I used Marina Mist and Daffodil Delight because I just love the way they look together. I also used the Vintage Vogue stamp set because it has a lot of elements in the stamp set.

After I made the cards, they were just lying around gathering dust. (I know; "how sad!") So I decided that they needed a box to go in. Not just any box, but a box that gives you a sneak peak of what is inside.

Here is a close up of the box top. I used the same collage design as the cards and the same "Happy Birthday" theme.

Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Thanks,

Roberta

Are you ready for Easter?

If you are not, I have two cute ideas for you!First is a super cute 3x3 card. I saw somewhere that someone made cute little chicks using a variety of punches. I don't have all the punches she said she used on her chick so I thought "How could I make a chick without using all those punches?" My answer, the OWL PUNCH!!! I punch two bodies with Daffodil Delight and one with Pumpkin Pie. I also used the "overcoat" part of the owl in Daffodil Delight. I cut of the feet on all the pieces. The yellow bodies I cut right along the body line and the orange one I left some extra one so they would be easier to attach to the chick body. (Sorry for the lack of picture directions!) I also cut off on ear on one of the yellows. The head of the chick is made by cutting a small rounded piece from the yellow that still has both his ears. The wing is a piece cut from the "overcoat" piece and the beak is a small piece of the orange body.

I also used one of the cute builder wheels (Bees and Blossoms) for the flowers the chick is standing in.

Are you ready for the second cute Easter idea!?!

I found this guy when I did a search of Easter gift ideas. It is a Blow-Pop disguised as an Easter Bunny! Susan Roades made them for the Columbia Regional. She also made a snowman and a pumpkin. They are the cutest things ever and so simple to make!

Cut 4x6 piece of DSP (I used Very Vanilla card stock). Cut into 1/2" strips. The strips will be 1/2" x 4". Stack strips. Using Crop-A-Dial, punch a hole in each end of the stack of strips. Put strips on sucker stick. Twist top of sucker paper and put paper through the top hole of the DSP one at a time. You will probably have to fan them out as you stack them because they will get tight. The ears are made using the leaves from the Birds & Blooms Sizzlet die. You simple cut the top of the Blow-Pop in half and layer the ears on. The checks are the circle from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. A couple google eyes and whiskers add your decorations at the bottom and you are done! Easy Peasy!!

My First Joy Fold

I have seen these roses show up everywhere. They are made using the Owl Punch and the large scallop circle punch. If you want to see how they are made follow this link owl punch rose. She has some really good pictures and they are really easy to follow. I used more owl bodies than she did because I wanted my rose to look fuller. My color combo came from the Color Coach on the Daffodil Delight info page.

I have to say that I was a little intimidated when I first saw people making cards using the Joy fold. It looked way too complicated for me. I finally broke down and decided to make one and I am so glad I did. I will be making more of these in the future for sure!

What do you think of my first Joy fold card and my rose? Leave me a comment to let me know.

Shower Invite

I said earlier that I was making baby shower invites. Here it is! I saw a card on Stampin' Connection that inspired me to make these. I am sorry I don't remember whose card it was. I made 60 of these; 40 in pink for my sister and 20 in blue for my cousin. I wasn't really paying attention to how many I would have to eventually make when I was designing this card. I clearly would not have decided to have all those cuts if I was. With so many pieces to cut, I rallied the troops. My mom, sister and longtime friend/upline came over to help me cut all the pieces. It took all four of us cutting over four hours to cut all the pieces. I had my friend/upline come back the next day and help assemble them all. Now all I have to do for the shower is make some decorations, decide and make food, make cupcakes, get prizes for games, and put the games together. Not too much!! I do have a couple of months to get everything together.

I would love to hear what you have to say about this card! Leave me a comment please!

Turquoise Bliss

I know it has been a while since I posted anything, but it has been pretty busy here. My sister is expecting a baby in August and I am hosting the shower. That means lots of invites, decorations, games, and tons of preperations. I am also making the invites for my cousin's baby shower to be held in May. I will show you the invites I made in a later post.

Now on to today's card. I did this one for a recent swap where there were now rules. Sometimes I love no rules! I used the Sale-a-Bration set Bliss for this one. I stamped the ornate stamp on Whisper White with Staz-On and then embossed it in clear embossing powder to give it a little texture. The butterfly and the "Bliss" are both stamped in Tempting Turquoise on Whisper White. I cut each of them by hand. I made twenty swaps and my hand hurt when I was done. I attached them both with dimensionals then added pearls to them. The butterfly got three pearls down the belly and "Bliss" got one in the bottom swirly. The back layer is Basic Black run through the Big Shot with the square lattice embossing folder.

I really like the way this card turned out. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.
