Village of Cuteness
My village is finally complete!I am so glad that I was able to attend the Village of Cuteness class at Convention. It was one of two classes offered for an additional fee. I had so much fun during class making these cute houses. Two of my roommates and I sat at a table with three other wonderful ladies. We were laughing and talking almost the whole time. We had a two hour window to finish the houses, but nobody there was able to completely finish all three in those two hours. I got the majority of them finished but had to put the finishing touches on them after I got home.
Here is a close up of the small house. You can't really tell from the photo, but the hinges on the door are library clips with the handles cut off. We used the distressing kit for the door and planter box. I like the way the rhinestones on the flowers give that little "pop" of shine.
I think this middle one is my favorite. Once again the hinges are library clips with the handles cut off and the distressing kit was used on the door. I really like the mini pin for the door handle. The rosette near the top of the house was made using a new tool coming out in the new Holiday mini. This new tool makes scoring so much easier! I will be getting one for sure! I will let you know more about it once it is available.
Last but not least, the large house. Those little circles were a pain to punch out. I punched out twenty five small circles from each paper. That is 125 little circles! They were stuck one with mini glues dots one by one. Not the most fun use of my time, but I do like the result. The key is a super cute touch and I think my favorite on this house.
Stampin' Up! has some really great designers don't they!?! This class was one of the highlights of my Convention experience this year! If you want to go to Convention next year, sign up online at http://robertasmith.stampinup.net and we can go together!

Make & Take from Convention
I finished my make and takes from Convention! I didn't finish them at Convention, but I did after I got home. I don't have a photo of the banner to share, but I do have a couple photos of the box. Here is the front of the box. I offset my red chipboard piece because I wanted something different for my box.
This is the top of the box. The top is covered with the new Timeless Portrait fabric. (The box is from a sneak peak from the upcoming Holiday mini.) We used the Blossom Petals Builder punch and the Lace Ribbon Border punch. These are both punches that I would not have thought about buying, but after getting to use them, they are one my wish list. The super cute jewel in the center of the flower is one of the Simply Adorned Baubles. We used the clear crystal 5/8" one. The box also comes with dividers to separate your cards. I don't have a photo of those but I used the Timeless Portrait DSP to cover them. I really like the way the box turned out.
Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.
Only 6 more days to get your FREE keepsake box kit when you sign up to be a demo! Don't miss out on this wonderful opportunity! Sign up online at http://robertasmith.stampinup.net

3-d swaps for Convention 2011
This year, I decided to make a few 3-d items to take to Convention. I didn't get them photographed and posted before I left, but better late than never right.
Here is a group shot of my swaps. I made fabric candy wrapper boxes. I simply glued fabric onto card stock and ran it through my Big Shot with the candy wrapper die.
Here is a close up shot of them. I used various fabrics and embellishments for them. The label is the decorative label punch.I put lifesavers and my contact info inside them. Super simple and super cute! Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.
Don't forget about the fabulous $99 starter kit offer and free Christmas Keepsake box kit! Contact me today for more info or sign up online at http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/robertasmith/

PPA103
I finally created another card for a challenge! I was creating for challenges all the time a while ago and then life got in the way. I have been trying to get back in the swing of things lately and I finally did it.
This week Pals Paper Arts is having a sketch challenge. I like sketch challenges because you can change them up a little to sort your personal style. Here is my creation for this week.I started with a small piece of the Baja Breeze Pocketful of Posies DSP leftover from Convention. My Color Coach said that Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy are a dynamic duo so I decided to go with it. I really like how my little snowman came together. You can't see it very well in the photo, but I added Dazzling Diamonds the the snowball and around some of the edges on the snowman. The snowflakes also have Dazzling Diamonds.
Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.
Don't forget about the $99 starter kit special with the FREE Christmas box kit! Contact me today or sign up online at http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/robertasmith/.

I will be casing these
I am back from Convention and finally caught up with everything. (I think!) I saw so many cards and projects that I will be casing. I thought I would show a few of my favorite.
This is one that I knew I would be doing when I got home. Those are pots covered in DSP!
MDS baby announcement. Isn't that precious!Wreath decorated with fabric and paper roses. There is also a sneak peak from the Holiday Mini on the wreath. (more details later)
I am in love with the stockings! Another sneak peak!
I love the candy wrapper boxes! I will be making these to use as a garland on my Christmas tree this year!
I thought that I would leave you with a sneak peak of something that I almost started crying over. I was over the moon happy with this.
I can not and will not say anything more about this yet. Stay tuned for more information!
If you want to come enjoy Convention 2012 with me, you can sign up to be a demo for $99. (Until July31, 2011) You will get your awesome starter kit and this great Keepsake box kit.

Convention Swaps
I know that it has been a very long time since I posted. I haven't really felt the mojo. I think that I finally got it back. Convention is in less than two weeks and I thought that I would show you the swaps I made.
Here is the first one. I used all Marina Mist on this one. The layout is one from Mary Fish. She used it for a Pals Paper Arts challenge. I recently learned a new technique called Faux Mother of Pearl. Let me tell you that this is my new favorite technique. It is super simple and super fun. You simple take some scrunched plastic wrap, dip it into Frost White Shimmer Paint and dap it onto a piece of Whisper White card stock. Then you stamp whatever image you want and voila! You can't tell from the photo but it is really a great technique. This stamp set is Just Believe.
Here is the second one. I used Certainly Celery and Vintage Vogue for this one.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to leave me a comment to tell me what you think.
